That’s why we are driven to help people know Jesus Christ as their Savior and to follow him as Lord so that they “grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”. (Mark 16:15, 2 Peter 3:18)
Why do life alone when you can have help? You were created to experience life with others. In order for you to grow spiritually you have to be connected relationally with others. In City Groups you’ll share in each other’s hardships, celebrate with each other and even enjoy meals together as you follow Jesus Christ in community. (Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:24-25)
We know that it is better to give then to receive, to serve then to be served. We are all about serving others and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Whether it is down the street or across the globe, we are driven to helping those in need. Discover the gifts God has given you to help others and experience the indescribable feeling of doing what you were created to do. (Matthew 23:11, Luke 6:38)

Jermaine Ollie Serves as the Lead Pastor of Power City Church. Pastor Jermaine takes complex issues and presents them with unique insight. He shares the life-changing message of the Bible in creative, practical ways with humor and relevance. He is a young visionary leader who creates an atmosphere that makes you feel at home.
After Studying at Texas Southern University, he is currently in process of completing his Masters Degree in Christian Management & Leadership from Trinity Theological Seminary. He is constantly dreaming of ways Power City can create environments that inspire, celebrate life, and prepare us for each day. He is challenging the conventional notions of tradition by focusing on relevance rather than routine.
Pastor Jermaine is married to Porshia Ollie. She is a graduate of Sam Houston State University in Kinesiology and Masters Degree at Prairie View A&M University in Counseling. She has a true heart for people and loves to make a positive influence wherever she goes. They also have the honor and privilege of being awesome parents to their handsome sons Parker, 6 & Jaxson, 3.
Our story is simple, we love Jesus and we love people! Our hearts desire is to serve the people of Houston through Power City and offer them a real and powerful experience with Jesus. Our prayer is that Power City becomes a family of believers who are able to live life on a God given mission.

Why Another Church?

There are about 200 million unchurched people in America, making us one of the four largest unchurched nations in the world.

Today, of the approximate 350,000 churches in America, 80% are either plateauing or declining.

70% of young adults (18-22 years of age) are dropping out of church for at least a year.

Roughly 60,000 churches will open their doors before 2020. Yet 48,000 additional churches will be needed to keep up with population growth.

Over 2.8 million people in metro Houston have NO connection to GOD.That's equivalent to the entire population of the state of Arkansas.

On any given night in Houston, there are approximately 6,876 homeless people living on the street including women and children.
It’s time for change! We believe that the local church is the most effective way to facilitate that Life-giving change.
